There are 5 possible instruction languages: Dutch, French, Portuguese, English and German.
Lingua Coaching was founded in 2022 due to a spontaneous demand from students for private lessons. I originally started with 'Dutch tutoring' for French-speaking students. Then I specialized in Dutch for Portuguese speakers. In the meantime, I also provide language coaching in companies/organizations at home and abroad. My offer was expanded on demand to include French and Portuguese for beginners.

What is Lingua Coaching?
Lingua Coaching is an organization specialized in language lessons (Dutch, Brazilian/Portuguese and French) with a focus on Dutch. It offers an innovative, people-centered approach that focuses on learning in a supportive environment. The programs include (intensive) language courses, language coaching, language remediation and conversation tables for adults. The goal is to help students develop their own, effective learning style and to strengthen their motivation. Lingua Coaching is led by Gerlinde Vanderstraeten, who uses her broad experience and multilingual skills to guide students.

As a language coach/language teacher/language trainer, I help people learn a new language with confidence. I have been active in education since 2000 and have gained experience at various private language schools and in official adult education (Promotion Social in Wallonia and CVO in Flanders). My passion for languages and cultures is not only reflected in my work, but also in my volunteer work at AFS intercultural exchange, conversation tables Babbelut Brussels and the municipality of Londerzeel, Fedasil, Foyer Brussels, international volunteer work, Intersoc holidays, Femma Kleurrijk …
I believe that language is much more than just words – it is a bridge to new opportunities and connections. With a personal and practical approach I help you to strengthen your language skills.

How do we work together?
My method is based on a combination of structure, customization and practice-oriented exercises. We start with an introduction in which I get to know your goals and expectations. Based on that, I set up a personal learning path.
Personal learning goals
We determine together what you want to achieve and work step by step towards that goal. Whether you want to improve your speaking skills, prepare for an exam or strengthen your language skills for work or travel, I adapt the lessons to your needs.

General Terms and Conditions – Lingua Coaching (language lessons and coaching)
Article 1 – Applicability
These general terms and conditions apply to all agreements between Lingua Coaching (represented by Gerlinde Vanderstraeten) and the student regarding private language lessons and/or coaching sessions, both online and on-site. Deviations are only valid if agreed upon in writing.
Article 2 – Registration and Agreement
A registration is considered final after written or digital confirmation by Lingua Coaching.
For minors, parental or guardian consent is required.
For coaching sessions funded through VDAB career vouchers, the provisions of VDAB also apply.
Article 3 – Tuition Fees and Payment
Tuition fees must be paid in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Payments are non-refundable.
Lessons must be completed within the agreed period. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure this.
For coaching trajectories using VDAB career vouchers, the VDAB payment terms apply. If the student does not meet VDAB requirements, he/she is obliged to pay the full amount directly to Lingua Coaching.
In case of late payment, Lingua Coaching reserves the right to suspend the lessons.
Article 4 – Cancellation and Rescheduling of Lessons
Lessons take place at fixed, pre-agreed times within a specific period.
Cancellations by the student are free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled lesson. This is allowed for up to 10% of the purchased lessons.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will be fully charged.
If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson due to force majeure (e.g., illness, accident), a new date will be scheduled by mutual agreement.
For lesson packages (subscriptions), missed lessons are not automatically rescheduled. Only lessons cancelled on time can be rescheduled, up to 10% of the total package.
Article 5 – Teaching Materials and Intellectual Property
Teaching materials provided by Lingua Coaching are for personal use only, strictly for the teacher and the student.
It is not allowed to reproduce, distribute, or use these materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
Article 6 – Liability
Participation in lessons is at the student’s own risk.
Lingua Coaching is not liable for damage to or loss of the student’s personal belongings.
For online lessons, Lingua Coaching cannot be held responsible for technical disruptions beyond its control.
The teacher is not liable if the student fails to achieve their goals. The student is responsible for their own learning process.
Article 7 – Force Majeure
In the event of force majeure (such as illness, pandemic, weather conditions, internet or power outages), Lingua Coaching may reschedule the lessons or offer them online. The student is not entitled to any compensation in such cases.
Article 8 – Privacy and Data Protection
Personal data of students is treated confidentially and used solely for administrative and lesson-related purposes.
Lingua Coaching complies with the European GDPR legislation.
Article 9 – Applicable Law and Disputes
This agreement is governed by Belgian law. Disputes will first be resolved through mutual consultation. If this is not possible, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the judicial district of Lingua Coaching’s registered office.
